Look for A Little Moonlight This Summer
Dianne Reeves and her trio have just finished recording her latest album for Blue Note Records. Recorded in December at Right Track Studios in NYC, the album was produced by legendary jazz producer Arif Mardin (Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Norah Jones).
Dianne's trio, Reuben Rogers on bass, Gregory Hutchinson on drums, and Peter Martin on piano, was joined by guests Romero Lumbambo on guitar and Nicholas Payton on trumpet. When discussing the album, Ms. Reeves says this is an extremely personal record and has an intimacy and fragility unlike anything she's done previously.
The album is a glowing, gorgeous collection of classics and new material, including “Skylark,” “Darn that Dream,” “You Go to My Head” and Stevie Wonder's “Make Sure You're Sure” from the Jungle Fever soundtrack. The CD will be titled A Little Moonlight and is due to be released in August.
